Punchlist

The final list of incomplete or unsatisfactory items a contractor must address before a job is closed out.

Generated at substantial completion, the punchlist itemizes every small issue — touch-up paint, a sticky door, a missed caulk bead — that needs to be addressed before final payment. The owner or GC walks the project with the contractor and creates the list together. Punchlists are typically resolved within 30 days of substantial completion.
