JSA (Job Safety Analysis)
A document that breaks down a job into steps, identifies hazards per step, and specifies controls and PPE.
A Job Safety Analysis is a written hazard analysis prepared before crews start work. Each work step is listed, the hazards in that step identified, and the control measures (PPE, lockout, fall protection, etc.) specified. Modern JSA workflows include a crew acknowledgement signature so each worker confirms they have read and understood the analysis. OSHA and most insurance carriers expect a JSA on file for high-risk work.
