How it works

From signup to first use in 60 seconds.

Anyone on the crew opens a job, taps "Add Photos," and snaps directly from the camera or selects from the camera roll. Each photo gets a category tag (Before, After, Progress, Issue, Material, Inspection, General) — taking three seconds in the upload flow. Captions are optional. Photos compress client-side so a 50-photo upload from a remote jobsite doesn't blow up the cellular data budget.

Once uploaded, photos live on the job permanently. They're sortable by category, by date, by who uploaded them, and searchable across the whole workspace. A foreman uploading on Tuesday and a project manager viewing on Wednesday see the same gallery in real time — no SMS chains, no Google Drive folders, no losing photos to the camera roll.

When you're ready to share, the client-visibility toggle controls what goes to the homeowner via the client portal. Internal photos (issues, mistakes that got fixed, before-cleanup) stay private. Clean progress photos flow into the client's view automatically.

Who it's built for

Which trades get the most out of this.

Roofers

Hundreds of photos per job (before, tear-off, deck condition, underlayment, flashing, final) — tagged and searchable for the next decade of warranty claims.

Concrete contractors

Phase-by-phase photo trail (sub-grade, rebar, pre-pour, finish, post-pour) is litigation defense when a slab cracks years later.

Remodelers

Before/After galleries from completed jobs become marketing material for the next prospect; client-visible mid-build photos keep homeowners happy.

Restoration / insurance

Adjusters want chronological photo documentation. Auto-organized by job means no scrambling when the claim file is requested.

General contractors

Sub-by-sub visual documentation: when the framing sub claims the work was complete, you have the photos that show otherwise.

Plumbers + electricians

Pre-cover photos of rough-in work are gold for warranty calls and remodels years later — Vexor finds them in 5 seconds.

Why it matters

The hidden cost of not having this.

The contractor who can produce a clean, dated, location-stamped photo of work in progress wins every dispute. The contractor who has to dig through three years of personal camera roll loses by default. Photos that aren't organized are functionally photos that don't exist — they're tax on your time, not assets.

CompanyCam built a $300M business on this insight alone. But CompanyCam is photos-only — every photo lives in a parallel universe from the customer, the quote, the job, and the invoice. Vexor puts photos in the job they document. A foreman opens the job and the photos are there. A client opens the portal and the photos are there. An attorney requests evidence and you generate a single PDF with the photos timestamped and in context.

And then there's marketing. Every completed job is a marketing asset, but only if you have the photos in a usable form. Vexor automatically surfaces completed-job photos to the contractor's public profile gallery (if they have one) — turning operational documentation into a portfolio that wins the next bid.

CompanyCam alternative — without paying for a single-purpose tool.

CompanyCam runs $24/user/month and only handles photos. A 5-person crew on CompanyCam is $120/month. Vexor at the same $59-$199/month flat rate handles photos AND the rest of the contractor workflow.

FAQ

Common questions, answered.

How many photos can I upload per job?

Unlimited. There's no cap on photos per job or per workspace on any plan. Storage is included.

Can clients see the photos?

Only when you decide. Every photo has a "Client-visible" toggle. Internal photos (issues, mistakes, before-cleanup) stay private; clean progress photos flow into the client portal.

Does Vexor compress photos?

Yes — photos compress client-side before upload (typical 4-8MB iPhone photo becomes a sharp ~600KB version). Originals are preserved if you ever need full resolution.

Can I organize photos by phase or location?

Yes — every photo is tagged with one of 7 categories (Before, After, Progress, Issue, Material, Inspection, General). For larger jobs you can also group photos into custom albums.

Can I download all photos from a job?

Yes — bulk download as a ZIP, or share a single permanent gallery link to a client, insurance adjuster, or attorney.

Does Vexor support video?

Yes — videos up to 1080p (5 min) upload alongside photos. Thumbnails generate automatically. Voice-over notes can attach to videos.

What about blueprints and PDFs?

PDFs and plan images attach to jobs. You can view them in-browser on mobile. Basic annotation is supported. For serious takeoff workflows, integrate with Bluebeam — see /alternatives/bluebeam.

Are photos EXIF-stripped?

EXIF data (date, time, GPS) is preserved for the job's internal record. When you share photos externally (client portal, public showcase), location EXIF is stripped to protect homeowner privacy.
